Members’ Solo Projects Soaring

As BTS’s grand comeback in 2025 is approaching, it is noted that the solo projects of BTS members continue to perform well on global charts.

According to the latest Billboard chart (dated February 15) released on the 11th by the U.S. music media outlet Billboard, Jin’s OST “Close to You” from tvN’s weekend drama “When the Stars Gossip” ranked third on the World Digital Song Sales chart, maintaining a top position for the second consecutive week. Additionally, his solo album “Happy”, released in November last year, secured 17th place on the World Albums chart, while its title track “Running Wild” ranked 179th on the Global (Excluding U.S.) chart.

Meanwhile, Jimin continues to perform strongly on Billboard’s two main charts. His second solo album, “MUSE”, released in July last year, landed at 131st place on the Billboard 200, while its title track “Who” reached 36th place on the Hot 100 chart. Notably, “MUSE” has remained on the Billboard 200 and World Albums chart (No. 2) for 29 consecutive weeks, showcasing its enduring popularity. “Who” also ranked 22nd on the Global 200, 24th on the Global (Excluding U.S.) chart, and 27th on the Streaming Songs chart.

Jungkook’s solo single “Seven (feat. Latto)” secured 77th place on the Global (Excluding U.S.) chart and 122nd place on the Global 200, maintaining its solid popularity. With 82 weeks and 81 weeks on these charts, respectively, Jungkook holds the longest-charting record for a K-pop solo artist. He continues to break his own record every week as the longest-charting Korean solo artist on these charts.

Additionally, V’s song “Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)”, released in November last year, has stayed on the Global (Excluding U.S.) chart (186th place) for 10 consecutive weeks.

Previously, Lee Hwa Jung, a researcher at NH Investment & Securities, predicted BTS’s comeback timeline following the members’ military discharges. According to Lee, the global boy group is expected to release a full album in the second half of 2025, a milestone crucial for boosting HYBE’s revenue growth. Furthermore, Lee projected that BTS would embark on a world tour in 2026 to maximize the album’s influence and profitability.

BTS’s J-hope also hinted at the group’s return in 2025, sharing, “As BTS, there’s still so much we need to accomplish. Once we reunite as a group, I believe it will create a significant impact, drawing everyone’s attention. I’m eagerly anticipating the moment we stand on stage together again. I want to return in a grand way and say, ‘This is us. This is BTS.’ While I can’t speak for all the members, I trust that they feel the same as I do. I truly love doing this from the bottom of my heart.”
